The Straughn Tigers were the 44-24 winner over the Georgiana Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Straughn fell 51-44 to Georgiana on Monday. Straughn has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ora Hall, who scored 12 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Hall scored a full 27.3% of Straughn's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Allyx Williamson, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Straughn's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Georgiana, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Straughn won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Florala at 5:30 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Florala focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Monday. As for Georgiana, they will head out on the road to face off against Greenville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
