The North Atlanta Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Lambert Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Atlanta will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Friday, North Atlanta didn't have too much trouble with Alpharetta as they won 28-12. The Warriors pushed the score to 28-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.
North Atlanta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Edwards, who rushed for 97 yards and two TDs on only eight carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave Edwards a new career-high. North Atlanta also got a significant boost from Weston Goodman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: North Atlanta was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 236 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

North Atlanta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jakori Kareem and Quinn Herring. With that strong performance, Herring is now averaging an impressive 5.8 total tackles per game.
Lambert hadn't beaten North Forsyth on the road since October 14, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them two weeks ago. The Longhorns were the clear victors by a 48-27 margin over the Raiders. The Longhorns have beaten the Raiders the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Raiders has come to flipping the script.
A big part of Lambert's win came down to the chemistry between Ethan Daughtery and his top target Nathaniel Fernander. Daughtery threw for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt while Fernander picked up 62 receiving yards and one score.
North Atlanta's record is now 4-2. As for Lambert, their record now sits at 2-3.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. North Atlanta has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 205.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Lambert, though, as they've been averaging only 92.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
North Atlanta came out on top in a nail-biter against Lambert when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 24-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
