Even though the Mansfield Senior Tygers scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Sandusky Blue Streaks still came out on top. Sandusky walked away with a 70-61 victory over Mansfield Senior. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sandusky.
Sandusky can attribute much of their success to Jason Henlon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. Another player making a difference was Amir Aaron, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Mansfield Senior had strong showings from Kyevi Roane, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds, and Dondreas Reese, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Sandusky pushed their record up to 2-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Mansfield Senior, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Sandusky will head out on the road to face off against Bowsher at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bowsher comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mansfield Senior, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Mansfield Senior likes a good challenge.
