Norfolk Christian is 2-8 against Cape Henry Collegiate since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ambassadors are taking a road trip to face off against the Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. Cape Henry Collegiate took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Norfolk Christian, who comes in off a win.
Norfolk Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against StoneBridge as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Ambassadors as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Colby Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Lengkeek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Sawyer Fentress also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Norfolk Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cape Henry Collegiate has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They fell just short of First Colonial by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dolphins have suffered since April 5th.
Ryan Hummel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Dobrinsky, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Norfolk Christian's record is now 9-13. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Norfolk Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cape Henry Collegiate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Norfolk Christian couldn't quite finish off Cape Henry Collegiate in their previous meeting back in March and fell 3-1. Can the Ambassadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
