Basketball Recap: Mcdonough Sets Scoring Season-High Against Calvert

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McDonough). They really took it to the Calvert Cavaliers for the full four quarters, racking up a 94-37 win. The Rams have beaten the Cavaliers the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cavaliers has come to flipping the script.

McDonough's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zavian Riley, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Riley is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played. Carlos Stepney was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points.

Riley wasn't the only one working in the assist department: McDonough was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

McDonough's record is now 12-9. As for Calvert, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 17 of their last 18 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-22-1 record this season.

McDonough will be playing at home against Patuxent at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McDonough is facing Patuxent at the right time seeing as Patuxent is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. Calvert does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
