North Hills Christian is 1-6 against Statesville Christian since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The North Hills Christian Eagles have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Statesville Christian Lions at 6:15 p.m. on November 30th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, North Hills Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-44 to Rockwell Christian School.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Reese Merrell, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. She scored a full 29.5% of North Hills Christian's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Kibler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Statesville Christian came up short against Millers Creek Christian on Tuesday and fell 36-27. Statesville Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
North Hills Christian has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 1-5 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Statesville Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
North Hills Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Statesville Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022, sneaking past 29-26.
