Lafayette is 1-9 against Hamilton County since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lafayette Hornets will be playing at home against the Hamilton County Trojans at 8:00 p.m. Lafayette knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Hamilton County likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Lafayette earned a 60-47 victory over Dixie County. With that win, Lafayette brought their scoring average up to 52.2 points per game.
Lafayette got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amarie Fleming out in front who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Mares, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Hamilton County ended up a good deal behind Suwannee on Saturday and lost 73-54. Hamilton County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Their wins bumped Lafayette to 3-1 and Dixie County to 1-2.
Lafayette couldn't quite finish off Hamilton County when the teams last played back in January and fell 60-57. Can Lafayette avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
