Waukegan is 0-10 against Libertyville since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Waukegan Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Libertyville Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Waukegan has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Libertyville will arrive with four straight wins.
Last Monday, Waukegan had to suffer through a rough 61-34 loss at the hands of New Trier. While losing is never fun, Waukegan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while New Trier is ranked 82nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Hadassah Brown , who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliaya Cade, who scored nine points.
Libertyville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over York. With Libertyville ahead 43-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Waukegan's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Libertyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Waukegan took a serious blow against Libertyville when the teams last played back in February, falling 74-21. Thankfully for Waukegan, Emily Fisher (who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
