The Hatch Valley Bears lost against the Socorro Warriors back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hatch Valley fell just short of Socorro by a score of 51-49. Hatch Valley has not had much luck with Socorro recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Hatch Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caydence Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberts has scored all season. Miah Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Hatch Valley dropped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Socorro, their victory bumped their record up to 5-15.
Hatch Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hot Springs at 7:00 p.m. Hatch Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games. As for Socorro, they will head out on the road to take on Cobre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Mexico (Cobre is ranked 134th, while Socorro is ranked 115th).
