After losing to the T.R. Miller Tigers the last time they met, the Excel Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Excel escaped with a win on Monday against T.R. Miller by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Excel.
Despite the loss, T.R. Miller still got an impressive performance from Heath Kirkland, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was Kirkland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brodie Anthony, who scored 5 points along with 7 rebounds.
Excel's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for T.R. Miller, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
