In other batting news, Mia Kiegel was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Heritage Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only posted an OBP of .062.
Heritage Hills' record is now 3-0. As for Washington, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Hills will square off against Vincennes Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Alices have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Washington, they will take on Tell City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
