After flying high against the Leechburg Blue Devils last Friday, the Clairton Bears came back down to earth. Clairton fell 62-50 to Jeannette on Tuesday. Clairton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jeannette apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jeannette to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Powell, who scored 16 points. Powell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Odorisio, who scored ten points.
Clairton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Jeannette, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Clairton will square off against Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Greensburg Central Catholic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Jeannette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Springdale has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 583 points over their last eight matches.
