The York Golden Knights will head out on the road to take on the Le Roy Oatkan Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. York has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 369 points over their last five matchups.
York pushed their score all the way to 59 last Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avon. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Avon is ranked 34th).
Meanwhile, Le Roy ended up a good deal behind Warsaw on Tuesday and lost 67-49. Le Roy was down 54-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Jean Agosto put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Merritt Holly Jr. was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
York's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Le Roy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
York came up short against Le Roy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 78-73. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Holly Jr., who dropped a double-double on 41 points and 16 rebounds. Now that York knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
