The Ferndale Eagles will square off against the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ferndale will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Ferndale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Harper Woods 17-2 on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Matthew Trumpy made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Ferndale is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Trumpy was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Shaltis is becoming a predictor of Ferndale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Taylor Williams was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
