The Cornerstone Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Saint Mary's Hall Barons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Cornerstone Christian turned things around against Hyde Park on Tuesday. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Meanwhile, Saint Mary's Hall's hitters rose to the challenge against a Lions pitching crew that boasted an average of only 4.07 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Barons put the hurt on San Antonio Christian with a sharp 14-1 win. The Barons haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Cornerstone Christian, Saint Mary's Hall also got a great game from a two-way player: Meryl Jones. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Jones has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Torrey Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexis Holmes, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cornerstone Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Saint Mary's Hall struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cornerstone Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Saint Mary's Hall in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
