The Salem Hills Skyhawks were the 58-46 winner over the Pleasant Grove Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. Salem Hills fell just short of Pleasant Grove by a score of 50-48. That's two games in a row now that Salem Hills has lost by exactly two points.
Salem Hills' loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Reagan Beck and Brooke Warren. Beck scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds, while Warren scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. Warren scored a full 27.1% of Salem Hills' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hattie Parkinson, who scored 7 points.
Among those leading the charge was Amber Cook, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Tabi Clark was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Salem Hills and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Pleasant Grove, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem Hills will take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wasatch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
