The McCollum Cowboys can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 79-23 victory over South San Antonio. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
It was another big night for Zoey Yanez, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Noelisa Espinoza, who scored eight points along with nine assists and six steals.
McCollum pushed their record up to 24-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points per game. As for South San Antonio, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-23.
McCollum will head out on the road to face off against Harlandale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlandale will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. As for South San Antonio, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Medina Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Medina Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South San Antonio in Texas (Medina Valley is ranked 625th, while South San Antonio is ranked 1279th).
