This season hasn't been kind to the Columbia Capitals, who are still winless after their seventh match. They were outmatched by Richland Northeast on the road and fell 59-12. Columbia was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richland Northeast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sasha Cebula, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Zimarika Moorer, who scored 16 points along with six steals.
Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Richland Northeast, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Newberry at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Richland Northeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
