The Bristol Warriors will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against New Hope Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 14th. Bristol will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 456th in Pennsylvania, while New Hope Academy is ranked 123rd in Maryland).
Last Wednesday, Bristol came up short against Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy and fell 45-33. Bristol has struggled against Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, New Hope Academy entered their tilt with Gilman with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. New Hope Academy had just enough and edged Gilman out 82-79. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
New Hope Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haki Muhammad, who scored 27 points along with five assists. Muhammad hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Uriah Augare-Deal, who scored 21 points.
Bristol bumped their record down to 6-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Hope Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.
