Fairview is 0-4 against Wayne Trace since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Apaches will challenge the Raiders at 2:00 p.m. Fairview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Wayne Trace's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, Fairview made easy work of Montpelier and carried off a 14-6 win. Considering the Apaches have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Elijah Arend and Anthony Singer made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Arend pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Singer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Arend has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Arend went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Singer went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those three runs gave Arend a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Olinger, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Zane Timbrook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Fairview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Wayne Trace's offense. They fell just short of Coldwater by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Considering the last time the Raiders couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.
Fairview pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne Trace, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season.
Fairview couldn't quite get it done against Wayne Trace in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 6-1. Can the Apaches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
