The Antioch Bears put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past University School of Nashville with a 51-45 win. Given Antioch's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while University School of Nashville is ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Antioch to victory were Maddux Bodenhamer and Jaiden Claybrook. Bodenhamer scored 16 points, while Claybrook dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. The contest was Bodenhamer's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chris Aveary, who scored 9 points.
Antioch's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for University School of Nashville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch will face off against Lawson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. University School of Nashville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against The Webb School at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. The Webb School is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.8 points per game.
