There wasn't a lot of overall movement in the power rankings this week, but with 19 teams changing position, that doesn't mean the week lacked for thrills. A special shoutout goes to Billings Senior's senior Nolan Askelson, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Billings Senior's 49 - 7 win over Sentinel last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Nolan Askelson. Askelson threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Askelson one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Game of Inches
The title of the most exciting match of the week goes to the clash between Shelby and Loyola-Sacred Heart. Shelby won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Loyola-Sacred Heart 28 - 27. The win raised Shelby up two spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Hamilton and Billings Central Catholic went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (63) among all power ranked teams. Hamilton got a somewhat close 35 - 28 victory over Billings Central Catholic. As a result, Hamilton rose three spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Hamilton (3rd in the power rankings) and Columbia Falls (2nd). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Of course, Hamilton and Columbia Falls can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
