Clifton Central is 2-8 against Peotone since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Wednesday. The Clifton Central Comets will be staying on the road  to face off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 12:00  p.m.  on December 27th. Given that  both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  match.
 Clifton Central pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a  67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Watseka.
 Despite their  loss, Clifton Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Aidan Podowicz, who  scored 16 points along with six  assists and six  steals, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that  Podowicz  scored 15 or more  points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Peyton Chandler, who  scored 14 points along with six  rebounds.
 Meanwhile, Peotone's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell  59-46 to Shepard.
 Clifton Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Peotone, their loss was  their third straight on the road, which  bumped their record down to 1-11.
 Clifton Central might still be hurting after the  54-29 loss they got from Peotone  in their previous meeting  back in February. The  match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Clifton Central was down  30-10.
