2A - North recap Nov. 7, 2012
Manti extended the longest winning streak in 2A - North this week by beating Grand County, 58-15. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Manti took down the Red Devils 58-15 last week, the largest margin of any game. Connor Aste threw for 109 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Cole Meacham's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Austin Jackson chipped in 50 yards. Jamen Miller helped Manti's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Jackson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Templars bested Grand County. Jackson racked up one reception for 28 yards.
Jared Schiess made the biggest impact on defense this week as Manti defeated Dennis Wells' team. The 6-foot-3 junior recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
6-foot-1 quarterback Aste of the Templars is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1279. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. On the ground, Millard's Jesse Rhodes has rushed for 1710 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Lafe Christensen. The Gunnison Valley star has 28 catches for 597 yards.
Manti led 2A - North in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Red Devils. Aste in the win.
