The Butler Bulldogs on the road again on Friday and play against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 8:30 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Butler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 83-52 victory over Putnam County on the road. Butler has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.
Kwamane Bridges continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Bell, who scored ten points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Washington County beat Josey 55-50 on Tuesday. Given Washington County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Josey is ranked 467th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brashod Heggs out in front who scored ten points along with six assists and six rebounds. Justin Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Butler's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Washington County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Butler strolled past Washington County when the teams last played on January 2nd by a score of 57-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Butler since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
