Baseball Recap: Fort Collins' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Fort Collins, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Poudre Impalas by a score of 5-1 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Lambkins: when they faced off against the Impalas on Thursday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Porter Park looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaden Souders was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Collins' success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 6-13 when he doesn't).

With the win, Fort Collins broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13. As for Poudre, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11.

Fort Collins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Poudre, they will take on Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
