The Langley Saxons will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Albemarle Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Langley is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Langley pushed their score all the way to 66 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 79-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yorktown. While losing is never fun, Langley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Yorktown is ranked 122nd).
Meanwhile, Albemarle came up short against Eastern View last Tuesday and fell 58-50. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Albemarle has scored all season.
Langley has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Albemarle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
