They came out on top against Calvary Chapel Academy by a score of 41-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Merritt Island Christian also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.
Merritt Island Christian found their leader in underclassman Connor Angstadt, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Angstadt hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carter Stevenson, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Calvary Chapel Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Adema, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Steiger, who scored nine points along with four blocks.
Merritt Island Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Merritt Island Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Burns Sci-Tech is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they and the Falcons will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
