Green Level is 0-6 against Middle Creek since March of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. Green Level will be playing at home against Middle Creek at 4:30 p.m. Green Level is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Green Level didn't have quite enough to beat Green Hope and fell 9-8. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Green Level saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sloane Kessler, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another was Stella Pepin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Middle Creek made easy work of Apex on Tuesday and carried off a 14-4 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted against the Cougars since April 5, 2019.
Hailey Hoeft made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Middle Creek got a massive performance out of Kennedy Johnson, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4. Kristen Norton was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Middle Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Green Level, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Green Level might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Middle Creek in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Green Level avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
