The Corydon Central Panthers's game  last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They greeted the New Year with  with a  49-34 victory over Eastern. Given Corydon Central's advantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 104th, while Eastern is ranked 320th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Josie Vaughn was  her usual excellent self,  scoring 15 points along with three  steals.  Alyssa Groover was another key contributor,  scoring nine points.
 Corydon Central now  has a winning record of 9-8. As for Eastern, they are  on a seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-15.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corydon Central will take on Forest Park at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Eastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlestown at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
