Basketball Recap: Wheeler Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Wheeler entered their tilt with Glenn on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Glenn Falcons by a score of 38-28. While the Bearcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wheeler was led to victory by Nick Scott and Carter Blane. Scott went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points, while Blane posted six points and five boards.

Despite the loss, Glenn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jude Nicks went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points. That was a full 53.6% of Glenn's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Wheeler pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Glenn, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

After both having extra time off, Wheeler and Portage Christian will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Wheeler is facing Portage Christian at the right time seeing as Portage Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Glenn and Anderson will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th.
