The Westlake Chaparrals will face off against the North Shore Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westlake is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.
Westlake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 24-17 win over Lake Travis.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westlake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rees Wise, who threw for 180 yards and one touchdown on only 14 passes, and also rushed for 47 yards.

Westlake didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elliott Schaper and George Jones Lll. Those two interceptions gave Schaper a new career-high.
Meanwhile, North Shore faced Atascocita in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. North Shore blew past Atascocita, posting a 49-21 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten contests by 25 points or more so far this season.
Westlake better keep an eye on Kaleb Bailey. He was instrumental in North Shore's win, rushing for 261 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes. Bailey's longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Quanell Farrahkan Jr. also helped with two touchdowns in total.
North Shore was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 437 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
The win keeps them at an undefeated 14-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.6 points. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Saturday's game might be decided in the on the ground. Westlake has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Shore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.7 rushing yards. It's looking like Saturday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Westlake came up short against North Shore when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 23-14. Can Westlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
