The Crawford County Eagles lost a heartbreaker to the Twiggs County Cobras when they met  back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again  on Saturday. Crawford County took a  52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Twiggs County. Crawford County has struggled against Twiggs County recently, as their  game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
 Crawford County's loss  came despite strong showings from  Mareo Slaton and  Brandon Seay.  Slaton  dropped  a double-double on 14 points and 11  rebounds, while  Seay  scored 15 points along with two  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Seay has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jamahl Willis, who  scored four points along with 13  rebounds and three  blocks.
  Kamauree Butler was the offensive standout of the  game as he  scored 20 points.  Armarion Downing was another key contributor,  scoring ten points.
 Crawford County bumped their record down to 4-9 with that  defeat, which was their seventh straight  on the road. As for Twiggs County, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-8.
 Crawford County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Temple at 6:30  p.m.  on January 19th. As for Twiggs County, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Wilkinson County at 8:30  p.m.  on Friday. Wilkinson County is coming into the  matchup on a four-game losing streak.
