The Ragsdale Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Northern Guilford 94-26. Ragsdale has struggled against Northern Guilford recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Northern Guilford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malena DeLisa, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. That's the first time this season that DeLisa scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Leena McField, who scored 27 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ragsdale has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Northern Guilford, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ragsdale on the road again on Tuesday and play against Page at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Page focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Northern Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast Guilford is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Northern Guilford a 18-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
