It was a good run, but the Butler Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Josey by a score of 42-39. Butler has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Butler still got an impressive performance from Brayla Harris, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 56.4% of Butler's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Karen Nimo, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Shaniya Sanders, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds for Josey. Sanders continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Za?miyah Jenkins z, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Butler's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Josey, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.
Butler will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laney will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 78th). As for Josey, they will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn Hills is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
