The Ramsey Rams typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Northern Highlands Highlanders proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Rams with a 41-35 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Northern Highlands has scored all year.
Leading Northern Highlands to victory were Freddie Kanning and Lucas Dipasupil. Kanning scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, while Dipasupil scored 16 points along with three steals. Kanning continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Chapler, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Northern Highlands and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Ramsey, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-1.
Northern Highlands will head out on the road to square off against Paramus at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Paramus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Northern Highlands is ranked 62nd). As for Ramsey, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cliffside Park at 7:00 p.m.
