The Marion County Red Raiders lost against the Pickens County Tornadoes back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Marion County took a 34-15 bruising from Pickens County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marion County in their matchups with Pickens County: they've now lost nine in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Kemaurion Plott, who rushed for 88 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Marion County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-5. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Pickens County, South Lamar, and Clements. As for Pickens County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will square off against Hackleburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hackleburg will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Pickens County, they will head out on the road to face off against Addison at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
