The Cuthbertson Cavaliers lost against the Ardrey Kell Knights back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cuthbertson took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. While losing is never fun, Cuthbertson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Knights are ranked 33rd).
Cuthbertson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Beals, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Mundy, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Cuthbertson has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Ardrey Kell, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Cuthbertson will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sun Valley is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Ardrey Kell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Olympic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
