Basketball Recap: West Point-Beemer Extends Winning Streak to Five

West Point-Beemer won the last time they faced Humphrey-Lindsay and things went their way on Tuesday too. The West Point-Beemer Cadets walked away with a 65-53 victory over the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs. The win was nothing new for the Cadets as they're now sitting on five straight.

West Point-Beemer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Swanson, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five assists. Swanson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ian Schiller was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Humphrey-Lindsay's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Kurtenbach, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. That was a full 35.8% of Humphrey-Lindsay's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Gavin Groteluschen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

West Point-Beemer is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
