Delta has gone a perfect 9-0 against Aspen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Skiers at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Delta has five straight victories, Aspen has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Delta made easy work of Roaring Fork and carried off an 18-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ty Reed spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rhett Miramontes and Jhett Ryan did most of the damage at the plate: Miramontes scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Ryan scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Ryan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Deacon Shean, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Aspen fell victim to Coal Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Titans. That's two games in a row now that the Skiers have lost by exactly ten runs.
Delta's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Aspen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Aspen's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Delta has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Aspen, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Delta keep running through batters, or will the Skiers buck the trend?
Everything went Delta's way against Aspen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Delta made off with a 15-0 victory. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skiers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
