Canon-McMillan hasn't had much luck against Seneca Valley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Big Macs will take on the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Canon-McMillan comes in on three and Seneca Valley on eight.
Canon-McMillan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Woodland Hills a 16-0 shutout on Monday. With that win, the Big Macs brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Lyla Mowery made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Aurora Shirdon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Harley Tournay was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Canon-McMillan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .929. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley had just enough and edged out Mt. Lebanon 2-0 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly two runs.
Seneca Valley let Bella Gross and Lauren Folino run wild. Gross scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Folino went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Seneca Valley's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Canon-McMillan, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Canon-McMillan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Seneca Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Canon-McMillan suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Seneca Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Big Macs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
