Denver Waldorf hasn't had much luck against Belleview Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Denver Waldorf's tournament run continued when they took on Union Colony Prep on Saturday. Denver Waldorf lost 47-27 to Union Colony Prep. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mila Ivano, who posted nine points along with eight boards and five steals. Those nine points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sula Schuyler, who put up seven points in addition to 12 boards and three steals.
Meanwhile, Belleview Christian played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Golden View Classical Academy, falling 49-25. The defeat continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Sentinels: they've now lost four in a row.
Like Denver Waldorf, Belleview Christian lost despite seeing results from several players. Faith Rosiere led the charge by putting up four points and 21 rebounds. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tara Polson, who had seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Even though they lost, Belleview Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
Denver Waldorf's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Belleview Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Denver Waldorf has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Belleview Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
