The Pine Lake Prep Pride scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 81-54 win over Christ the King. That looming 81-54 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pine Lake Prep yet this season.
Pine Lake Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Robert Magner, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Strickfaden, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Christ the King's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Parker Ryan, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds, and Marco Tampoya who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Tampoya also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Drew Reimels, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Christ the King were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Lake Prep only racked up 23 assists.
Pine Lake Prep's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for Christ the King, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Lake Prep will face off against Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Norman Charter's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Christ the King is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Mountain Island Charter at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Mountain Island Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Christ the King in North Carolina (Mountain Island Charter is ranked 174th, while Christ the King is ranked 410th).
