Northwest has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Clarksburg Coyotes at TBD on Monday. Northwest will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Coyotes are ranked 33rd).
Last Friday, Northwest took a serious blow against the Screamin' Eagles, falling 71-16. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Northwest in their matchups with the Screamin' Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Clarksburg came tearing into Friday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 39-32 win over Whitman.
Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Clarksburg, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Northwest took a serious blow against the Coyotes when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 60-18. Can Northwest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
