Lilah Morris was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Brylyn Boswell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Daviess County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hancock County made easy work of Breckinridge County on Monday and carried off a 10-0 win. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Fighting Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Hancock County got a massive performance out of Bella Bryant, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Audrey Carnes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Daviess County's record is now 23-2. As for Hancock County, their record now sits at 15-9.
Hancock County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Daviess County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .508. It's a different story for Hancock County, though, as they've only averaged .365. Will they be able to contain Daviess County's hitters?
Everything went Daviess County's way against Hancock County when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Daviess County made off with a 7-1 win.
