The Baldwin Braves will be playing at home against the Swainsboro Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Baldwin has eight straight victories, the Tigers have four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
In what's become a running theme this season, Baldwin gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past West Laurens 91-49 at home. Given Baldwin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Raiders are ranked 473rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Baldwin had a senior duo take command as Tremarius Lawrence scored 26 points along with six rebounds and five steals and Isaiah Dennis scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Lawrence has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Karez Demory, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Swainsboro had to suffer through a rough 84-47 loss at the hands of the Vikings.
Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season. As for Swainsboro, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Baldwin took their win against the Tigers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 80-54. Does Baldwin have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
