On Friday Garden Valley will take on Cascade at 3:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Garden Valley took a serious blow against Salmon River last Friday, falling 22-58. Despite the loss, Garden Valley saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Corban Fields picked up 63 yards on the ground and accumulated 161 passing yards. That makes it six straight good games in a row from Fields.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-48, which was the final score in Cascade's tilt against Horseshoe Bend. The state rankings had actually given Cascade a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Garden Valley simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Cascade 79-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Garden Valley since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
