It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Battery Creek Dolphins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Bishop England 67-65. The victory was just what Battery Creek needed coming off of a 56-32 loss in their prior game.
Alizjah Mathis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Battery Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Kelvin Willis, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Battery Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Bishop England, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battery Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Hampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 556 points over their last nine games. Bishop England and Bell County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bell County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
