The Orme Warriors just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the BASIS - Prescott Coyote at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th. Orme is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Even though Orme has not done well against Caurus Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Orme snuck past Caurus Academy with a 46-42 win.
Orme's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Owen Rudolph, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Bartek Kreglewski, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Rudolph scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Nurzhan Murat, who scored five points.
BASIS - Prescott suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Arrowhead Christian Academy on the road and fell 69-22. While losing is never fun, BASIS - Prescott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Arrowhead Christian Academy is ranked 79th).
Orme's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for BASIS - Prescott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Orme lost to BASIS - Prescott on the road by a decisive 47-29 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Orme avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
