The Romeoville Spartans waltzed into Tuesday's game with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Plainfield South by a score of 51-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Romeoville also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the loss, Plainfield South still got an impressive performance from Destynia Mcgruder, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Mcgruder scored a full 30.8% of Plainfield South's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Mezewich, who scored 6 points.
Romeoville's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Plainfield South, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Romeoville will take on Plainfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plainfield South, they will be playing at home against Joliet West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
